TU to hold annual DEI Summit Nov. 4

Engage with campus, community leaders on diversity, equity, inclusion topics

Towson University’s annual Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Summit is Friday, Nov. 4 from 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m. at the West Village Commons ballrooms.

Presented by the Office of Inclusion and Institutional Equity (OIIE), the event provides space for staff, faculty and student leaders to be in community and conversation on key DEI topics.

DEI Summit Highlights

Attendees can expect to walk away with concrete strategies, tools and resources to make progress toward DEI goals. The event also includes an update on the progress of TU’s inaugural Diversity Strategic Plan and related institutional priorities.

Morning Session: Keynote and Panel Discussion

The morning session will include a keynote address by history and secondary education double major Rasul Wright ’23 on advancing equity in education in the United States from the student perspective as well as a panel discussion on how housing and employment discrimination impacts upward mobility and equity in education. Afternoon Session: Diversity Strategic Plan Update

After lunch, OIIE and campus partners will present the university’s progress toward creating a more diverse and inclusive campus.
