- The university’s efforts to foster equity among its students have been lauded by INSIGHT into Diversity, the largest diversity publication in higher education.
- Towson University’s Research Enhancement Program received the magazine’s 2022 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award, which recognizes academic programs that promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics among underrepresented groups.
- TU received the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award for the third consecutive year – one of just two universities in Maryland to achieve the recognition. The latest recognition comes nearly one month after TU welcomed one of its most diverse incoming freshman classes, with nearly 60% identifying as a racial or ethnic minority. Because this class, and the diversity of incoming classes over the last several years, Towson University now has its most diverse student body ever.
- In May, TU was also named the top institution in the nation -- and No. 30 globally -- for gender equality by the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.
