Things have quieted down on Towson University’s campus since the end of the spring term. But it’s about to get a lot livelier with summer in full swing.
Towson University is holding two separate events, one for faculty and staff and one for the general public. The 2023 faculty and staff appreciation celebration is Wednesday, June 14 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Tiger Plaza, while the Towson University Movie Night is Friday, June 16 at 7 p.m. at Johnny Unitas© Stadium.
The tropical beach themed celebration honoring the hard work of TU employees and their families includes carnival fun, food, games and music.
Menu items to tempt your taste buds include pulled chicken, coconut chicken skewers, Chesapeake shrimp pasta salad, and more. Free parking will be available in Towsontown garage after 3 p.m. regardless of permit status.
Those attending the event are encouraged to wear tropical, floral, or bright attire to match the event’s theme.
In the event of adverse weather, the event will be moved to Burdick Hall.
In collaboration with Towson Athletics, TU is hosting a free movie night on June 16 at 7 p.m. The family-friendly event open to the public will feature “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.”
Moviegoers can park in lots 4 and 5 and walk through the north gate inside the stadium. Those attending can bring a blanket to watch from the field or a chair to watch from the track.
There will be free Rita's Italian Ice available, as well as Ledo's Pizza available for purchase. Attendees who wish to bring their own food and drink may do so on the track.
