Looking for a spot to watch The Big Game February 12?
Try the Super Bowl Salute Fundraiser at The American Legion Post 22 and raise money for the Nick Ziolkowski Scholarship Endowment and the Military and Veterans Center at Towson University.
Big screens will display the matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, while food from Mission BBQ, drinks and dessert will be served throughout the evening.
Tracy Miller, who worked for 40 years at TU and is an adjunct professor of English at Towson University, leads the fundraiser. It is in honor of her son, Nick Ziolkowski—a United States Marine who was killed-in-action in Fallujah, Iraq in November 2004.
Ziolkowski had planned to attend TU and major in history. The scholarship in his memory has given over 40 students aid to supplement their GI Bill benefits.
“Because Nick was not here to make a difference in people’s lives, I wanted to have a way to do it for him. This is one way,” Tracy Miller said.
The fundraiser will be held February 12. Individual tickets are $35 per person in advance and $40 per person at the door. Get more information on the Nick Ziolkowski Scholarship Fundraiser.
