Sharon Jones-Eversley, DrPH

Biography

Dr. Sharon D. Jones-Eversley is the first faculty member honored as a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Family Studies and Community Development. She was born, raised and public school-educated in Baltimore, Maryland. She has 40 years of professional experience in human services and public health. As a social epidemiologist, Dr. Jones-Eversley is concerned about the disproportionate diminished healthy outcomes and high morbidity and mortality rates among families and communities. In particular, the lived experiences and exposures to persistent deprivation, injustice, illness, violence and death in Black families and communities are the precedence of her scholarship, advocacy and service.
