TU President Mark Ginsberg earned a spot on the Maryland Daily Record’s 2023–24 Power 100 List announced last month, less than two months after beginning his tenure as Towson University’s 15th president.

He joins University System of Maryland (USM) Chancellor Dr. Jay A. Perman; UMBC President Valerie S. Ashby and University of Maryland, College Park, President Daryll J. Pines among USM leaders on the list.

“I am honored to be included among such respected leaders whose contributions make Maryland stronger every day,” said Ginsberg. “Above all, this is truly a reflection of Towson University and its consequential impact on the state as a setting for innovation and an engine for economic development and opportunity. I look forward to working with colleagues in our state to continue TU’s legacy of excellence as we help a great university to become even greater.”

TU alum Rob Sharps ’83, the president and CEO of T. Rowe Price, also received recognition from the paper.

According to The Daily Record, the list honors “the 100 men and women who are shaping our businesses, governments, nonprofits, law firms and other key institutions” and who “play an outsized role in the culture, lifestyle, civic conversations and economic fortunes of Maryland.”

This list was chosen by the newspaper’s editorial team and is an amalgamation of the Power Lists the Record published throughout 2023 highlighting key players in the fields of law, higher education, health care, finance and other industries.

Gov. Wes Moore, who held one of his first cabinet meetings at TU last year, topped the list. See the full list.
