Towson University placed 26th nationally among public schools in Poets & Quants for Undergrads’ best business schools rankings.

TU moved up one spot from last year in the ranking, which evaluates universities in three equally weighted categories—admissions standards, alumni experience and career outcomes—using data provided in institution and alumni surveys.

TU placed 15th among public institutions on the list in the career outcomes measure, which looks at student internships, employment and salary data, two spots higher than 2022. The business website ranked TU 34th in the academic experiences and admissions measures among public institutions.

“This recognition is a testament to TUs faculty and staff who go above and beyond to prepare students for success in the global workforce,” said Interim President Melanie Perreault. We are incredibly proud to see their efforts lauded in a ranking that elevates Towson University as a destination for business learners, educators and leaders.”

Once again TU was the only Maryland university represented, placing higher overall than the College of William & Mary, University of Kentucky and Temple University.

Additionally, Poets & Quants named TU one of 11 undergraduate business schools to watch nationwide for 2023. The websites annual list features innovations, differentiators and other factors that have the potential to reshape business education. It highlights the emphasis on career readiness at TU, from the colleges connections with Fortune 500 companies to certificates and credentials that are built into the curriculum.

I am thrilled TUs College of Business & Economics has once again been recognized for the outstanding education we provide,” says Interim Dean Judy Harris. Being counted as one of the top universities in the country shows the high quality of our graduates and our faculty and staffs dedication to helping our students transform into business professionals.”

With 10 concentrations from entrepreneurship to project management and business analytics, the highly customizable business administration major is also ranked among the best undergraduate programs by U.S. News & World Report.

Students in the program complete the one-of-a-kind Professional Experience course, which bridges the path from classroom to career with a required 120-hour internship. They also have access to resources throughout the university fostering entrepreneurship, from the Venture Club to the award-winning StarTUp at the Armory, a one-of-a-kind, 26,000-square-foot building in the heart of Towson fostering greater Baltimores entrepreneurs and their ventures.

CBE is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International for its business administration and accounting programs. Less than 6% of business schools worldwide receive this distinction, while less than 1% receive accreditation for both programs.

This distinction reflects the hard work students are doing in the classroom and the many opportunities we provide for them to develop their professional skills,” Harris adds. I am very proud to see the results of all our efforts.”
