The College of Business and Economics offers a variety of scholarships for majors within the college. Some of these scholarships require proof of financial need and others do not.

The Business Systems and Processes (BSAP) Scholarship
The Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 is open to BSAP students with sophomore, junior and senior standing and demonstrating clear career goals in Information Technology each semester.
Efat Mirmiran Endowed Scholarship
The Efat Mirmiran Scholarship is open to undergraduate students in the College of Business and Economics. To receive this award, students must demonstrate academic merit, provide evidence of leadership skills, and have completed at least 100 hours of community service.
Fran Soistman and Family Scholarship
The Fran Soistman and Family Scholarship is open to undergraduate students with a declared major in accounting or finance enrolled in their junior or senior year of study. Recipients must possess a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Twenty hours of community service is also required to have been completed in the year prior to the awarding of this scholarship.
The Jamie Hurd Scholarship
The Jamie Hurd Scholarship is open to full-time sophomore, junior or senior students in the College of Business and Economics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50. The recipient, if eligible, may reapply for the scholarship.
Kathryn H. Gerling Scholarship
The Kathryn H. Gerling Scholarship is open to sophomores, juniors or seniors in the College of Business and Economics. The recipient will be a Maryland state resident, with preference given to an individual in Baltimore County. The award is to be based on merit and/or need.
Mary Fyffe Chiswell, Class of 1922, Scholarship
The Mary Fyffe Chiswell, Class of 1922, Scholarship is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors with a declared major in the College of Business and Economics. Preference is given to a Maryland resident.
Moneer Hojati-Kaynama Student Scholarship
The Moneer Hojati-Kaynama Student Scholarship is open to international students with a declared major in the College of Business and Economics.
Sam Barone Scholarship Fund
The Sam Barone Scholarship Fund is open to students with a major in the College of Business and Economics. Recipients should be of junior of senior class standing with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Tignanelli Family Endowment Fund
The Tignanelli Family Endowment Fund supports a scholarship that is open to continuing freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students in the College of Business and Economics with a 3.0 or above.
Towson Rotary Foundation Scholarship
The Towson Rotary Foundation Scholarship is open to juniors and seniors in the College of Business and Economics. Recipients must be graduates of high schools located in Baltimore County or Baltimore City. Applicants are required to have a 3.0 GPA, and extra weight is given for active participation in student organizations during their high school and/or college experiences. Recipients should have a history of participation in community or international service projects during their high school and/or college experiences.
Scholarships That Require Proof of Financial Need
A FASFA form must be completed by the student and submitted to the Financial Aid office prior to applying for certain scholarships. If you are not eligible through FASFA, you will not be considered for any of the following scholarships.
CBE Advisory Board Scholarship
CBE Advisory Board Scholarship is open to juniors, seniors and graduate students who have chosen business as their primary major. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and indicate a strong interest in a business career. Preference will be given to students with financial need and to a student who demonstrates leadership potential.
Christopher Scott Stark Memorial Scholarship
Incoming or returning students in the College of Business and Economics may apply for the Christopher Scott Stark Memorial Scholarship. There is no class-standing requirement. Recipients must display high moral character and personal integrity.
Stephen K. Shock Memorial Scholarship
The Stephen K. Shock Memorial Scholarship is open to students enrolled in the College of Business and Economics with a demonstrated financial need.
Towsontown Business and Professional Women's Club
The Towsontown Business and Professional Women's Club award is open to full- or part-time undergraduate students with a declared major in the College of Business and Economics, who maintain a GPA of at least 3.0, have completed 60 credit hours, and demonstrate financial need. Application for this scholarship must include an essay outlining academic and career goals.
WMS Partners Future Leaders in Finance Scholarship
The WMS Partners Future Leaders in Finance Scholarship is open to full-time junior or senior students in the College of Business and Economics with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Preference will be given to finance majors.
Accounting Department Scholarships
The accounting department awards the following scholarships to students with an accounting major who meet the other requirements.
Accounting Advisory Board Scholarship
The Accounting Advisory Board Scholarship is open to first-year students who intend to pursue a career in accounting. The scholarship is renewable. Applications for initial awards for the upcoming academic year can be submitted through March 1 of the current academic year. Your application must include a current resume, unofficial transcript, an essay, and a letter of recommendation.
Renewal applications for the upcoming academic year can be submitted through June 1. You must submit a resume, unofficial transcript, an essay, and a letter of recommendation, along with the renewal application form (PDF).
Accounting Alumni Scholarship
The Accounting Alumni Scholarship is open to continuing sophomore, junior, senior, graduate, and second bachelor's students majoring in accounting who have an overall GPA of 3.0. Full-time and part-time students can apply. Preference given to those who demonstrate financial need.
Accounting Department Scholarship
Kenneth and Renee Moreland Accounting Scholarship
The Kenneth and Renee Moreland Accounting Scholarship awards full-time meritorious students with a declared major in accounting who have an overall GPA of 3.0 and a GPA of 3.5 in accounting courses.

Economics Scholarships
Catherine Britt Memorial Scholarship
This award is given to an outstanding economics and/or geography student with a preference for combined majors. While students at any level are eligible, students with an established performance at Towson have an advantage. Jeremiah J. German Scholarship in Economics
The Jeremiah J. German Scholarship in Economics is open to junior economics majors who are entering their senior year. Students must have completed ECON 309 and 310 by the end of the Spring semester. Scholarship is based on academic achievement. Applicants must write a 750-word essay on a topic that will be announced to all eligible students each year.
Dr. Tamara M. Woroby Scholarship in Economics
The Dr. Tamara Woroby Scholarship in Economics is open to juniors majoring in economics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. No application form required, all economics majors in their junior year are automatically eligible and considered. The selected student will be notified by the scholarship committee.
Marketing Scholarship
Gwenyth H. Dunbar Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The Gwenyth H. Dunbar Memorial Endowed Scholarship is open to undergraduate marketing majors within the College of Business and Economics who are full-time, have earned at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and have demonstrated financial need as defined by the Financial Aid Office. James L. Dunbar, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
The James L. Dunbar, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is open to junior and senior marketing majors within the College of Business and Economics. Only students aged 22 and above may apply for this scholarship, which is renewable. For details on how to apply, contact Erin Steffes.
The Marketing Department Scholarship
The Marketing Department Scholarship is open to rising senior undergraduate marketing majors within the College of Business and Economics who are full-time and have earned at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA. Only students in the second semester of their junior year may apply for this scholarship. For details on how to apply, contact Erin Steffes.
Rising Star Scholarships
Students cannot apply for the Rising Star Scholarships, but rather, are nominated by a CBE faculty member. Students nominated must be full-time sophomores or juniors in good academic standing (rising juniors or rising seniors). If nominated, students must also provide a clear statement of professional and/or academic goals. The scholarship may be renewable so long as the candidate(s) meets the stated criteria.
