Richard E Burdette, Jr. Scholarship

The Richard E. Burdette, Jr. Scholarship will be accepting application submissions for the 2024–2025 academic year from September 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024.

Eligibility and Criteria:
  • Junior or senior status enrolled in a major program housed in the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics.
  • Enrolled as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours).
  • Cumulative GPA above 3.5 .
  • Demonstrates significant continual leadership and service to the University through student organizations, University committee participation, participation in study abroad/away programming or outstanding contributions to campus life.
Award Amount:

$1,500 one-time non-renewable

Application Procedure:
  • Compile a resume (include your TU ID number) and a one-page essay detailing one or more of the following
    • Describe how you have demonstrated significant leadership on campus; explain how it has contributed to, or improved the campus community and affected you as a person.
    • Describe the University committee you have participated in; explain how it has contributed to, or improved the campus community and affected you as a person.
    • Describe how you have contributed to campus life; explain how it has contributed to, or improved the campus community and affected you as a person.
      Have your resume and one-page essay in two separate Word or PDF files.
  • Log on: https://towson.academicworks.com/users/sign_in.
  • Move the cursor over the top menu item Opportunities and click on "All" in the drop-down menu.  This will take you to all currently open scholarships.
  • Scroll through the list to find the Richard E Burdette, Jr. Scholarship and click on this scholarship.  Information about eligibility, the award amount, the application deadline date, and items you will need to upload are given.  If this scholarship has already been awarded, it will not appear in the list.
  • Click on the Complete your General Application to apply.
