Provost's Council
The purpose of the Provost’s Council is to advance the educational mission of the university across academic affairs and student affairs, through communication, collaboration, strategic planning, and oversight. As the chief academic officer, the provost guides academic affairs contributions to the achievement of the TU strategic plan. The council advises the provost and vice president of student affairs regarding issues and actions which facilitate student and faculty success, including:
- planning and coordination of academic programs
- recruitment, retention, and graduation processes for students
- selection, retention, promotion, and development processes for faculty and staff
- planning and management of resources and facilities
- academic policies and procedures for the university
Meeting topics are suggested by individual deans, the provost, or the provost’s staff. Provost’s Council meets at least once a month. Twice a year retreats are also held. Meeting topics are suggested by members.
