Towson University is again among top Northeast colleges, per Forbes.
Towson University was ranked the No. 29 public university in the prestigious Northeast region in the latest rankings by Forbes, which also listed TU in the top 6 percent of all public universities in the country. There are about 1650 public institutions in the United States.
TU climbed three spots in its ranking, to No. 127 on the publication’s list of top universities in the Northeast Region. The “Top Colleges” list is Forbes' annual ranking of the top 650 public and private U.S. colleges. The publication scores colleges based on five categories, including student satisfaction, alumni salary, debt, on-time graduation rate and academic success.
"Towson University continues to be recognized as among the top universities in the nation — public or private," said President Schatzel. "The inclusion on Forbes’ list of America’s Top Colleges, which follows recognition by Princeton Review as a top regional college and by Money magazine as a best value institution, further indicates that TU is a first-choice institution for students in this region of the country.”
TU was ranked No. 109 amongst all U.S. public colleges, and was joined by fellow Maryland institutions, University of Maryland - College Park, Johns Hopkins University and UMBC on Forbes' list of top colleges.
The publication named TU one of America's Best Value Colleges in April of 2019.
