Towson University has been named the Best College/University in a Baltimore Sun poll of its readers. TU also claimed last year's Best College or University in the Sun.

Towson University advertising and public relations adjunct professor Glen Schorr was named best college professor in the readers poll. Former TU quarterback Tom Flacco repeated as best college athlete after wrapping up his career with the Tigers in 2019 with more than 6,000 yards passing and 50 touchdowns.

Patrice Sanders ’94 of Fox 45 was named “TV Anchor With Most Raidable Closet” for her radiant personality, fashion and professionalism. Teelin School of Irish Dance in Columbia, Maryland, which is owned by Maureen Berry 97, has been named best Irish dance studio.

All of the honors come at a time when Towson University is garnering international acclaim. The U.S. News & World Report 2020 America’s Best Colleges guide ranked TU 98th among public national universities. TU also ranked in the top 100 among universities in diversity and tied Harvard University in social mobility.

This story is one of several related to President Kim Schatzel’s priorities for Towson University: TU Matters to Maryland.
