Being a part of TU’s community unlocks access to free food delivery, state parks passes, streaming service and more. Here’s a round-up of some of the perks of being a Tiger.

Free food delivery and dining discounts

Free delivery? Yes, please. All TU students, faculty and staff are eligible for a free GrubHub+ account, which offers $0 delivery fees and lower service fees on orders of $12 or more from a wide range of off-campus restaurants. The account also enables you to have food delivered from on-campus dining locations using TU's food delivery robots. To sign up, download the GrubHub app, locate TU under Account>Campus Dining and enter your TU email and OneCard number.

Students, faculty and staff can also access discounts of up to 15% at the University Store by showing their OneCards to the cashier.

Pickleball, paddleboards, kayaking and fitness

Students, faculty and staff can access state-of-the-art fitness equipment—including personalized EGYM equipment—plus group fitness classes, a climbing wall and open sessions for sports ranging from basketball to pickleball, all for free through Campus Rec. Equipment for a dozen sports, including ping pong, basketball, soccer and frisbee, is also available for free. Adventurous students, faculty and staff can rent snowboards, paddleboards, tents and a variety of other adventure gear at low or no cost or join instructor-led rock climbing, kayaking and camping trips for less than $25.  Recover afterward with free massage chairs and percussion therapy tools to ease your tired muscles.

Game tickets and Under Armour discounts

TU students get free access to the more than 150 Tiger home games each year. To enter ticketed sports like football, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, gymnastics and men’s lacrosse for free, download and open the Towson University Tigers mobile app, navigate to the Tickets tab and sign in using your TU email address. Once signed in, your free student tickets will appear in the Tickets tab. 

Faculty and staff can reserve two complimentary tickets to home games by emailing at least 24 hours before game time. You can also gain free entrance to ticketed sports on game day by showing your OneCard at the gate.

As part of the Under Armour x Towson University partnership, Tigers can get a 25% discount on Under Armour gear by signing up for the UA Athlete Pass. Sign up at the special discount link then shop the latest gear on UA.com.

Streaming, best-sellers and library of things

Cook Library is best known as TU’s hub for academic support, but its brain break game is also strong. The library offers students, faculty and staff free access to Kanopy, where you can stream hundreds of award-winning documentaries and films. You can also borrow best-selling books, cookbooks, manga and more; check out everything from wireless speakers to board games and a Maryland State Parks pass from their new library of things; and even rent robotic therapy cats to help you unwind and de-stress. If you’re looking to up your research skills, don't sleep on their free workshops covering topics ranging from data analysis to AI.

Top-notch art, music and dance

TU’s Center for the Arts is home to three publicly available galleries displaying top-notch works by artists across the globe. This fall, the Asian Arts and Culture Center will feature colorful and textural works by Myungsook Ryu Kim, while the Center for the Arts Gallery will show an exhibition exploring the oddities and kinship of neighbors. Students, faculty and staff are welcomed to the full range of concerts, plays, lectures and performances occurring on campus throughout the year. This fall's lineup includes an all-ages operatic version of a classic fairy tale; the massive, messy and murderous play ‘Big Love;’ and a lecture by New York Times-acclaimed composer Michael Hersch. Students can access a limited number of free tickets for these events by visiting the Center for the Arts box office one hour before the event and showing their OneCards. 

Technology and equipment rentals

Bring your academic and creative visions to life using TU’s tools and technology, including a full inventory of cameras, microphones, lighting and more available to rent for free through the Technology Support Desk. You can also access LinkedIn Learning tutorials to expand your skills for using the technology and get a WordPress site to showcase academic and professional work. Faculty can access 3D printers, virtual reality and drones to explore emerging technologies for instruction. Students can access laptop services and students, faculty and staff can download Microsoft apps on up to five devices for free, plus access support and special pricing programs for buying personal computers.

Access to a world-class planetarium

TU students, faculty and staff can take free journeys into space at public shows held on the first and third Friday of every month during the academic year. Meet in Science Complex room 2206 to explore Mars, voyage through the universe and more. After the show, you can view the night sky from the building’s rooftop telescope (when weather permits). The all-digital planetarium also allows you to view the universe from anywhere on Earth or from any vantage point in space.
