Towson University has established this policy and implementing procedures for Regular employees to take examinations and attend interviews for University System of Maryland positions.

An employee, who gives their supervisor reasonable notice, shall be allowed up to four (4) hours leave without loss of pay and without charge to earned leave to take examinations and attend interviews for University System of Maryland positions.
Verification of the examination taken or interview attended is required. Verification must include the beginning and ending times and appropriate signature on official department letterhead.
Supervisors may require prior approval of the interview leave request.
Supervisors may limit the number and time allotted for examinations and interviews based on departmental business needs.
