Strategic Planning Process

An institution-wide planning process that began in fall 2019 is underway to set a strategic direction for Towson University over the next several years.

In alignment with the university’s Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Self-Study reaccreditation process, the next strategic plan will build on the previous plan, TU 2020: A Focused Vision for Towson University, and will conclude in fall 2020.

Strategic Planning Leadership and Advisory Committee

The Office of the Provost is leading a collaborative process for the development of a plan that is inclusive of TU’s strengths and greatest opportunities in the near and long-term. The planning process also connects strategic plans across all university divisions, colleges, offices and units.

The University Assessment Council’s Subcommittee on Institutional Effectiveness is serving as the primary advisory body to the strategic planning process. SIE includes representation from all university divisions as well as representatives from SGA, TUSC, AAUP, the Middle States Liaison Officer, and the Director of Academic Assessment.
