Five Towson University students received a total of $25,000 in scholarships from the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum. The awards recognized Soheil Aliakbar, Hammad Imran, Sabina Mae Aguon, Kathryn White and Anthony Panei.

“We had a great mix of computer and information science majors, as well as men and women this year. They were all outstanding. The final selection was a real challenge,” said Tom Lonegro, CIO Forum member who served on the scholarship selection committee.

All five individuals are students in the Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics; Imran is completing a minor in business administration in the College of Business and Economics.

The award benefits full-time sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate students studying computer science, computer information systems, information technology or e-business who have a 3.6 GPA or higher.

In addition to providing scholarships, CIO Forum members are actively engaged with the students. The award recipients will have the opportunity to participate in Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum meetings during the fall term.
