Towson University’s biannual pottery sale has something for everyone.

Now in its 46th year, the event has expanded beyond fired clay. Around 60 faculty and student artists have contributed illustrations, blown glass, paintings and prints, photography and even metals and jewelry.

Visit the sale on Friday, December 6 from 3–9 p.m. and Saturday, December 7 from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. in Center for the Arts, CA 3012.

Some of the ceramics on offer this holiday season include work produced during Fire Fest, a collaboration with Morgan State, Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and CCBC-Essex at Baltimore Clayworks in October.

Clayworks’ Jeremy Wallace led the students through the full two-day firing process needed for the Noborigama kiln. Fed with a continuous supply of wood over 48 hours, the resulting ash coated the pieces inside and created a glaze effect.

This story is one of several related to President Kim Schatzel’s priorities for Towson University: BTU-Partnerships at Work for Greater Baltimore.
