Make an impactful first impression with TU’s SuiTUp Closet

Deciding what to wear for interviews, networking events and internships can be daunting. But like many of the resources in TU’s Career Center, the SuiTUp Closet enables students to start on the right foot.

The goal of the closet is to promote career readiness through access to professional wear and reduce the stress and financial strain of building a professional wardrobe.

Students can select clothing items for career-oriented events like interviews, internships, networking events, campus career fairs and more.

Through the closet’s borrow and keep system, students can borrow clothing items for up to five days or select a couple items they would like to keep.

In a 30-minute appointment, booked via Handshake, students can shop the closet and utilize resources like the How to Tie a Tie tutorial, accessible via QR code. Students can even borrow clothes for a professional headshot at the Career Center’s LinkedIn photobooth.

Jonas Sheckler, assistant director of financial well-being and SuiTUp Closet lead in the Career Center, recognizes how important and impactful the right outfit can be when stepping into a new role or interviewing for one.

“Everybody deserves to feel confident and comfortable when they are interviewing or are on an internship. That’s invaluable. If you feel comfortable and confident, then you’re going to be putting your best foot forward,” says Sheckler.

The clothing within the closet is handpicked from partners like Macy’s and Men’s Warehouse and a substantial portion is also received through on-campus donations.

Although the closet has a wide range of styles and sizes to choose from already, the team is looking forward to expanding it to be even more inclusive in the upcoming academic year.
