The Office of the President serves the greater campus community by upholding and exemplifying the vision and the academic mission of Towson University while enhancing the learning, leadership and success of faculty, staff and students. The Office of the President's staff work closely with all university divisions to support the university in key areas, including governmental relations.
President Schatzel became Towson University’s 14th president in January 2016. She is strategically building on the university’s momentum to ensure TU continues to provide the highest quality programs and quality of life for students and the greater community it serves. She was honored by the Associated Black Charities as a “Champion for More in the Middle” for her leadership in diversity and inclusion at TU. She is a recipient of The Daily Record's 2018 Icon Honors and was named among The Daily Record’s 2017 Influential Marylanders, 2017 Top 100 Women, and the 2017 Most Admired CEOs.
President Schatzel has identified eight priorities that will build a strong foundation for Towson University over the next 3 to 5 years.
