The Office of the President serves the greater campus community by upholding and exemplifying the vision and the academic mission of Towson University while enhancing the learning, leadership and success of faculty, staff and students. The Office of the President’s staff work closely with all university divisions to support the university in key areas, including governmental relations.

Meet President Schatzel

President Schatzel became Towson University’s 14th president in January 2016. She is strategically building on the university’s momentum to ensure TU continues to provide the highest quality programs and quality of life for students and the greater community it serves. Her contributions to and leadership in Maryland have been recognized by The Daily Record, which named her one of the 2017 Influential Marylanders, 2017 Top 100 Women and 2017 Most Admired CEOs. She also received the Daily Record's 2018 Icon Honors and was named to the inaugural Power 100 list in 2021.
