Staff Senate

The Towson University Staff Senate (TUSS) is the advocate body for all university staff employees. Through its advisory role with the university administration, TUSS seeks to further the prominence of the university by promoting the value and talents of its staff employees.

Now recognized as the Towson University Staff Senate (TUSS), our roots go back to 1993, when as a result of strong campus-wide interest, the Staff Council was formed by the president. Initially formed to serve as an advisory body to the president's staff on non-faculty matters, the Senate is now a recognized shared governance body of the university that offers all staff employees an opportunity to express ideas and concerns and provides a means for assessing campus opinion on important staff issues. It further means to act as a communication channel between the president and the university staff, and to advise on matters relating to staff, the work environment, and the general welfare of the university as a whole.

2026 TUSS General Election Updates and Reminders:

Like last year, the 2026 TUSS General Election will use a 2 round voting process, first electing Divisional seats and then forwarding on those who were not placed in Divisional seats to the At-Large round if they expressed interest in moving forward.

For 2026, a new option has been added to the nomination form. This option allows you to indicate you have already been nominated. Staff may use this option, or decline to sign duplicate nominations.

The TUSS Election Committee also wishes to remind all nominees that we do not edit nominee statements when posting them to the election ballot, nor do we send reminders about nominations other than those automatically generated by DocuSign. You can visit TU's DocuSign site to see any pending DocuSign forms.
