TU Entrance

Applying for a Fee Waiver

  • Select one of the below application fee waiver types in the online application. If you pay the application fee, you cannot use a fee waiver to request a refund.
  • Submit supporting documentation to your TU Admissions Portal no later than the application deadline. Access to your Admissions Portal will be given after submitting your application.
  • To find out if your documentation has been received, check back to your Admissions Portal.

CollegeBoard SAT Waiver or ACT Waiver

Complete an SAT fee waiver or ACT fee waiver form certifying your eligibility criteria for a fee waiver. You must indicate that you have the waiver when applying to Towson University.

National Association for College Admission Counseling Waiver (NACAC) and Transfer Pell Grant Waiver

Complete the NACAC fee waiver form to certify your eligibility criteria for a fee waiver. Transfer students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant may use the NACAC Request for Transfer Admission Application Fee Waiver Form​ when applying to colleges. You must indicate that you have the waiver when applying to Towson University.

Alumni Admissions Nomination Program

This waiver is available if a Towson alumna/us nominates you for a fee waiver to the Office of Alumni Relations. Your sponsor must fill out an Alumni Admissions Nomination Program Form. You must indicate that you are requesting this waiver when you apply to Towson University.

Recent Applicants Fee Waiver

If you have applied for admission to the university within one academic year, you are eligible for a waiver of this fee. Your request for waiver will be checked against our records and automatically granted if applicable.

Military Service Waiver (applicants only)

If you are on active duty with current orders or have been honorably discharged from military service, you may request this waiver. A copy of your DD214 or active duty orders is required as verification. Select this waiver when you are applying to Towson University.

Baltimore City/County Top 10% Waiver (Weighted rank)

This waiver is available to students verified among the weighted top 10 percent of their graduating high school class from a Baltimore City or Baltimore County Public School only. You must indicate that you are requesting this waiver when you apply to Towson University. If you are identified as a top 10 percent graduate after your application is submitted, the fee waiver can be processed upon your request. You must submit this form in order to verify your top 10 percent standing.

College Bound Waiver

You may request this waiver from the CollegeBound Foundation, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering and funding the dream of a college education for underserved students attending Baltimore City public high schools. You must check the radio button next to the waiver you are requesting when you apply to Towson University. Then, we require documentation sent from the school indicating you are eligible for this waiver.
