Tiger Tuesday

Every Tuesday is Tiger Tuesday.

Tiger Tuesday is a weekly tradition that brings the Towson University community together through pride, spirit and connection. Every Tuesday, students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members are encouraged to wear black and gold, share their TU pride and celebrate what makes Towson University special.

Whether you're heading to class, working in the office, attending an event or connecting online, Tiger Tuesday is an opportunity to show the world that you're proud to be part of the Tiger family.

Get loud. Get proud. Go Tigers!

Why Tiger Pride Matters

University pride is about more than wearing school colors. It creates a sense of belonging and helps strengthen the connections that make a campus community thrive.

When Tigers show their pride, we:

  • celebrate the achievements of our students, faculty, staff and alumni
  • build stronger connections across campus
  • foster a welcoming community where everyone feels included
  • honor our university's traditions and history
  • show prospective students, families and visitors what it means to be a Tiger

Tiger pride reminds us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. It unites us around shared experiences, shared values and a shared commitment to Towson University.

The History of Tiger Tuesday

Tiger Tuesday began as a Student Government Association tradition. During Tuesday meetings, student leaders would greet one another with a simple phrase: "Happy Tiger Tuesday!"

What started as a spirited greeting quickly grew into a broader campus tradition. Now we set aside one day each week to celebrate our shared identity as Tigers and remind one another of the strength of the Towson community. BUT we hope people will proudly wear TU gear all year around – no matter the day of the week!

Today, Tiger Tuesday belongs to the entire university. It is a visible expression of school spirit that connects generations of Tigers and reinforces the pride we share in Towson University.
