Eric Hamrock

Biography

Eric Hamrock is an entrepreneur and healthcare leader based in the Baltimore region, with more than 20 years of experience in operational leadership, performance improvement and project management. He currently serves as entrepreneur in residence at the StarTUp at the Armory at Towson University, primarily focused on supporting faculty founders to develop early-stage ventures rooted in research.

Eric was the co-founder and CEO of StoCastic, a Johns Hopkins–based digital health company providing clinical decision support tools to leading health systems, which he led from founding through its successful acquisition by Danaher Corporation, a Fortune 500 company.

Following the acquisition, Eric served as senior director of service at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher division, where he led the transition of the StoCastic team into the organization and built and managed the service department supporting the company’s clinical decision support portfolio. In that role he engaged health system customers as an executive sponsor during implementation, represented the voice of the customer to cloud engineering teams, and shaped service strategy across a portfolio of products.

Eric’s early career included work at Sunrise Senior Living and the Johns Hopkins Health System, where he spent more than a decade leading process improvement, population health and continuous improvement initiatives in all care delivery and support areas. A certified Lean Sigma Black Belt and Project Management Professional, he has also served as principal investigator on National Science Foundation SBIR awards and has published widely on healthcare operations, patient flow, and application of clinical decision support.

He is passionate about applying evidence-based methods and multidisciplinary collaboration to improve healthcare operations and outcomes, and about building and scaling ventures that bring data-driven tools to the health systems that need them.

Education

Eric holds an M.B.A. in management from Loyola University Maryland and a B.S. in health sciences from James Madison University, with a concentration in health services administration and a minor in business.
