Biography
Valquiria Quirino, Ph.D., is a GIS specialist at the Center for GIS at Towson University. In this role, she helps complete contract and grant-funded work for the university and Maryland state agencies including the Department of Natural Resources, Department of Agriculture, Department of Health and the Maryland Transit Administration.
Prior to joining Towson University, Dr. Quirino held research, analyst and teaching positions. Her most recent job was at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency where she was a senior GIS analyst working for the Remediation Division.
Education
Valquiria holds a Ph.D. in forestry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, a M.S. in sustainable forestry and land use management from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and a B.S. in forest engineering from the Federal University of Parana, Brazil.
Personal
In her free time, Dr. Quirino enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking and traveling.
