John joined the Center for GIS in 2019. He develops and maintains web-based GIS applications. Recent projects include developing the State Highway Administration Routing Optimization Planning application, which will automate the route planning for vehicles inspecting state roads as part of the Maryland Condition Assessment System.
Prior to joining the CGIS, John worked as software test engineer at Omnitracs, where he developed test automation software for web applications and web services. He also worked as a programmer for Daedalus Books, where he developed and maintained e-commerce web applications.
John holds a B.A. in English from McDaniel College. He is working on completing an M.S. in computer science with a focus on software engineering at Towson University.
Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his two children, cycling, running, furniture making, and playing guitar.
