Areas of Expertise

Rich Holt has been a Baltimore resident for 25 years. His ceramic work consists of sculptural, self-reflective figures and whimsical, wheel thrown vessels. He is co-creator of Claymonster Pottery with his wife Cat Audette Holt.

Introduction to Ceramics, a companion workbook to beginning ceramists.

Article covering the Baltimore Clayworks 35th Anniversary show.

“Richard Holt’s striking “I have a secret” mysteriously towers in the second room, a simple gray stoneware backlit by a large window. Reminiscent of Juan Munoz’ almost whimsical “Last Conversation Piece” outside the Hirshhorn Museum, Holt’s more deliberately stationary piece suggests more intense, grown up secrets”.

Empty Bowls - The Ceramics area holds a series of workshops open to the public where participants can learn how to make bowls that will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul and be purchased at the “Empty Bowl” event each March. The event brings awareness to those who are hungry and homeless in Maryland.
