Biography

Dave Reiss is an award-winning filmmaker, expert Video Editor, and Associate Professor of Media Production at Towson University. After earning a Master's degree in Film Production at Boston University in 1990, Dave was one of the first Avid video editors to create a series for television entirely on Avid's software and hardware. In 1996, he started his freelance business as both a Producer and Video Editor, which led him to a wide range of projects from commercials to long form documentaries for political consulting firms, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Newseum, NBC-4, MCI, WETA and Macneil/ Lehrer Productions. In 2005, he earned a doctorate at the University of Baltimore's Doctor of Communications Design (D.C.D.) degree program, where he extended his media skills to include web and multimedia research and design. In August of 2005 he joined the faculty at Towson University's Electronic Media & Film department, where he teaches video post-production and production courses in film and video production including Documentary, Color Grading and Mastering, and Telvision Station Operations.
