Dave Reiss is a filmmaker, editor, and educator with a background in professional media production and post-production systems. He earned an M.S. in Film Production from Boston University and, in the early 1990s, was among the first editors to produce a television series entirely on Avid systems during the emergence of nonlinear editing.
After two decades working as a producer and editor on long-form documentaries and broadcast projects for organizations including Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and the Freedom Forum Newseum, he transitioned into teaching. He later earned a Doctor of Communications Design (D.C.D.) from the University of Baltimore.
At Towson University, Reiss teaches Color Correction and TV Studio, with a focus on professional workflows, system integration, and precision-driven media practice.
