President Schatzel's Inauguration Week begins Sept. 10

Towson University will celebrate the inauguration of its 14th president with TU's home football opener.

Towson University will celebrate the inauguration of Kim Schatzel as the 14th president at a formal installation ceremony on Friday, September 16 at 2 p.m. at SECU Arena. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony. 

The inauguration ceremony is free and open to the public. All members of the greater campus community, honored guests and special friends are welcome to join attend. 

The ceremony will not be ticketed, however we ask that guests [BROKEN LINK]RSVP[BROKEN LINK] if planning to attend. 

TU will be hosting a week-long celebration leading up to inauguaration, starting with the football home opener against St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. at Unitas Stadium.

Some of the other Inauguration Week events include a free ice cream social with President Schatzel on Monday, Sept. 12 and a free lecture on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The ice cream social will be held at PAWS Pavilion from 1-2:30 p.m. Selfies with the president, tagged with #tuprezschatzel, are encouraged.

The free lecture by Andrew Solomon, entitled "How differences unite us," will take place on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the West Village Commons ballroom.
