What you need to know about TU hosting the World Lacrosse Women’s Championship
Weeklong championship kicks off June 29 with opening ceremony, U.S. vs. Canada game at Unitas Stadium

Lacrosse fans will have their eyes on TU June 29–July 9 as the campus hosts the 30-team 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship.
Athletes will compete at TU’s elite athletic facilities, including Johnny Unitas® Stadium and Tiger Field. Teams will utilize a variety of world-class facilities throughout campus during the week.
The tournament was founded in 1982 and has since been largely dominated by the United States, which has won eight gold medals—including the last three—and 10 total medals.
TU is a natural location for the tournament as an anchor institution for Greater Baltimore and Maryland.
Fifteen students from Assistant Professor Ari Kim’s Internship in Sport Management class within the Department of Kinesiology will experience working at the lacrosse championship. Kim says her students will assist in event operations and enhance the experience of fans and athletes.
Says Kim, “Although any on-site fieldwork would be valuable—and a must—for those who pursue their careers in the sports industry, a large-scale international event might be even more valuable in helping students acquire valuable skills, including communication and public speaking, by interacting with diverse participants from the world. I also expect that the connections and professional social networks they will make may help the students increase career prospects.”

The United States and Canada face off for the premier game at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 at Unitas Stadium. The opening ceremony begins at 4:15 p.m. and includes a parade of nations from SECU Arena to Johnny Unitas® Stadium and a pre-game flyover 10 minutes before the opening draw.
Tickets
Single-day tickets begin at $19.95 and include full-day access to multiple fields at Towson University, usually up to 12 games per day. Find more information on how to get tournament tickets.
Parking
Free parking is available for World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship spectators in Lot 5 off of Auburn Drive behind Unitas Stadium, and overflow parking is available in the West Village Garage. Get more information about parking options.
Fan Village
The World Championship Fan Village is open to the public every day; no ticket is required to enter. The Fan Village is located on the north side of the Stadium just outside the main entrance.
