Among the resources to support the campus community, Towson University has a program specifically built for professionals managing through times of need. TU’s employee assistance program (EAP) Guidance Resources helps faculty and staff members navigate life’s challenges and nurture their well-being in the long term.

Whether you are in a crisis or experiencing financial, personal or workplace stress, Guidance Resources can connect you to 24/7, free and confidential resources that best support you and your family’s needs.

Counseling services with trained clinicians are available for anxiety, depression, grief or loss of life adjustments.  Employees can access up to five free counseling sessions per emotional issue. Legal and Financial services are also available.

Get started by calling 855-410-7628 or creating an account online. Anything shared with Guidance Resources is 100% confidential, employers and supervisors at TU will not be notified when you access EAP resources.

Mental health and wellness programs go hand in hand. Through the state of Maryland’s employee benefits division, all TU employees can tap into wellness resources, whether you are enrolled in a medical benefit plan or not.

These programs include guided meditations, 45-minute lunchtime webinars focused on mindfulness, cooking classes and more. Giving yourself permission to slow down and prioritize your mental and physical well-being can help mitigate stress and better support your overall health in the long term.

Program resources and registration can be found through the State of MD Wellness Home website or monthly wellness newsletter sent by the employee benefits division to your TU email box and can serve as a helpful first step toward prioritizing your health.

“It’s all about keeping you healthy,” says Jennifer Morrow, TU benefits specialist. “Anything you feed the body will feed the mind. If you take care of yourself, you’ll feel good overall and be much better served in the future.”

Morrow highly encourages the TU community to take advantage of the free resources available to them through the EAP and state of Maryland—and to pass along the resources to colleagues.

TU’s office of Human Resources and Guidance Resources are here to support and strenghthen the TU community year round and in times of need. For guidance, you can contact the TU office of Human Resources at
