Position

The Fisher College of Science and Mathematics invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month Clinical Assistant Professor of Anatomy & Physiology in the Department of Biological Sciences beginning August 2023. This renewable position carries with it the possibility of promotion. 

Qualifications

PhD in Biological Sciences, as well as experience teaching at the college or post-graduate level is required.  Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and demonstrated scholarly ability a must, ideally with curriculum development experience.  Candidates must have a research background and expertise in anatomy and physiology. Successful candidates will likely have experience as a postdoctoral scientist and with teaching diverse student populations. 

Responsibilities

Primary teaching responsibilities for this full-time teaching position may include introductory lecture and laboratory classes and upper-level courses in the general area of anatomy and physiology. Teaching will include both traditional lecture and laboratory courses as well as the potential for course-based undergraduate research experience classes (CUREs).

The Department of Biological Sciences is dedicated to providing high-quality education to both undergraduate and graduate students, with a focus on endowing students with the knowledge, skills and techniques necessary for success at Towson University and beyond. We are committed to providing students with an opportunity to conduct authentic research, both through independent research in faculty labs and as part of course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) laboratory classes.  Towson University was recently the recipient of an Inclusive Excellence grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute which is funding the creation of new CURE classes in diverse disciplines in Biology and other departments.  This grant highlights our ongoing commitment to supporting our diverse student body in reaching their educational and career goals in science and a continued mission in ensuring inclusion, equity, and diversity.
