Chapter Conduct & Disciplinary Status

The fraternity and sorority chapters listed below have violated Towson University's Code of Student Accountability.

Phi Sigma Kappa

Office Suspension Date: June 1st, 2023

1. Student Conduct/6e. Violation of other published Towson University regulations and policies./Failure to meet standard with the Fraternity and Sorority Life Chapter Assesment Program

Sanctions include the following:

  • Suspension from Towson University through June 1st, 2024.

Prior to the organization’s return to campus, representatives from the national fraternity must submit the letter of intent to the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life to reactivate the chapter.

Kappa Alpha Psi

Office Suspension Date: June 1st, 2023

1. Student Conduct/6e. Violation of other published Towson University regulations and policies./Failure to meet standard with the Fraternity and Sorority Life Chapter Assesment Program

  • Suspension from Towson University until June 1st, 2024

Prior to the organization’s return to campus, representatives from the national fraternity must submit the letter of intent to the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life to reactivate the chapter.

Additionally, upon return as a recognized campus organization Phi Sigma Sigma will be on probation for 1 year. 

Omega Psi Phi

University Charge Date: May 24th, 2023

Prohibited Conduct:

1. Student Accountability/3b. Violation of any disciplnary accountability action imposed by a university official

2. Student Accountability/ 3a Uncooperative behavior and/or failure to comply with reasonable instructions of University Officials acting in performace of their duties. 

University Charge Date: October 20th, 2022

Prohibited Conduct:

1. Student Conduct/6e. Violation of other published Towson University regulations and policies./Fraternity and Sorority Life Intake or New Member Policy and Fraternity & Sorority Life Social Events Policy

2. Student Conduct/6e. Violation of other published Towson University regulations and policies./Fraternity and Sorority Life expansion Policy

3. Student Conduct/6b. Violation of the Hazing Policy.

4. Student Conduct/1c. Endangering conduct that imperils or jeopardizes the health or safety of any person or persons.

5. Student Conduct/1.a. Physical assault, causing physical harm to,or having unwanted contact with any person.

Sanctions include the following:

  • Suspension from Towson University through May 24th, 2028.

Prior to the organization’s return to campus, representatives from the national fraternity must meet with the assistant vice president for Campus Life and other relevant staff, to submit a reorganization plan and be cleared to return to campus.

Additionally, upon return as a recognized campus organization Omega Psi Phi will be on probation for 1 year.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon

University Charge Date: November 19th, 2020

Prohibited Conduct:

1. Student Conduct/6e. Violation of other published Towson University regulations and policies./Fraternity and Sorority Life Intake or New Member Policy and Fraternity & Sorority Life Social Events Policy

2. Student Conduct/6b. Violation of the Hazing Policy

3. Student Conduct/ 5b. Providing or otherwise making available an alcoholic beverage to any person under 21 years of age.

4. Student Conduct/1c. Endangering conduct that imperils or jeopardizes the health or safety of any person or persons.

5. Student Conduct/3.a. Uncooperative behavior and/or failure to comply with reasonable instructions of University Officials acting in performance of their duties.

6. Student Conduct/2.a. Disruption or obstruction of teaching, research, administration, disciplinary proceedings, or normal University operations, including University-sponsored activities or events.

Sanctions include the following:

  • Suspension from Towson University through May 23rd, 2025.

Prior to the organization’s return to campus, representatives from the national fraternity must meet with the assistant vice president for Campus Life and other relevant staff, to submit a reorganization plan and be cleared to return to campus.

Additionally, upon return as a recognized campus organization Sigma Alpha Epsilon will be on probation for 1 year.

Kappa Sigma

University Charge Date: September 28th, 2020

Prohibited Conduct:

1. Student Conduct/6e. Violation of other published Towson University regulations and policies./Fraternity and Sorority Life Intake or New Member Policy

2. Student Conduct/6b. Violation of the Hazing Policy

3. Student Conduct/ 5b. Providing or otherwise making available an alcoholic beverage to any person under 21 years of age.

4. Student Conduct/1c. Endangering conduct that imperils or jeopardizes the health or safety of any person or persons.

Sanctions include the following:

  • Suspension from Towson University through December 19th, 2025.

Prior to the organization’s return to campus, representatives from the national fraternity must meet with the assistant vice president for Campus Life and other relevant staff, to submit a reorganization plan and be cleared to return to campus.

Additionally, upon return as a recognized campus organization Kappa Sigma will be on probation for 1 year.

Phi Sigma Sigma 

University Charge Date: April 4th, 2018

Prohibited Conduct:

1. Student Conduct/4A. Possession or use of alcoholic beverages in the following manner by any person under 21 years of age; or, possession of, or consumption from, an open container in any public area which has not been approved by Towson University; or, a person 21 years of age.

2. Student Conduct/5A. Possession or use of illegal drugs, unauthorized controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia when not in accordance with established policy.

3. Student Conduct/7C. Endangering conduct that imperils or jeopardizes the health or safety of any person or persons, including oneself.

4. Student Conduct/18. Violation of published institutional regulations and policies. Specifically Fraternity and Sorority Life social event policy.

Sanctions include the following: 

  • Suspension from Towson University until August 1st, 2023

Prior to the organization’s return to campus, representatives from the national sorority must meet with the assistant vice president for Campus Life and other relevant staff, to submit a reorganization plan and be cleared to return to campus.

Additionally, upon return as a recognized campus organization Phi Sigma Sigma will be on probation for 1 year.
