Omicron Delta Kappa

Omicron Delta Kappa is the National Leadership Honor Society that recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership, and exemplary character. Membership in ODK® is a mark of the highest distinction and honor. Student membership candidates must rank academically in the upper 35 percent of the student body, and must have junior or senior standing.


ODK® recognizes achievements in the five following areas:

     1. Scholarship
     2. Athletics
     3. Campus/Community Service, Social/Religious Activities, Student Government
     4. Journalism, Speech and Mass Media
     5. Creative and Performing Arts

Applying for Membership

Minimum requirements:
     • Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student
     • Minimum 3.5 GPA
     • Display leadership in at least one of the five areas of campus life mentioned above

Include the following information for each activity included in your application: length of time committed (ie. two years)
     • Brief description of your role/responsibilities (no more than three sentences)
     • Only include leadership positions/activities you were involved in during your time at Towson University 
     • Exception: If you are a graduate student or a non-traditional student, include leadership activities within the past five years

Examples of leadership positions/activities to include in application: ◾
     • Started own business/Entrepreneur
     • Served on a committee (on- or off-campus)
     • Executive board member of an organization (on- or off-campus)
     • Dean's List
     • Awards/ Certificates of Recognition for accomplishments (on- or off-campus)
     • If your role/activity does not seem relevant to leadership, please include it in your application anyway for consideration.
