Guests

Enjoy a successful celebration with a little advanced planning and an understanding of attendee accommodations and expectations.

This page addresses steps that guests should take before Commencement days. For steps to take on Commencement days, visit Ceremony Day.

Download the app

Candidates and families are strongly encouraged to download the Commencement guide, located in the TU Event Guides app in the App Store and on Google Play for real-time notifications about the ceremony, information about parking, accessibility, seating and more.

Determine accessibility needs

TU Arena is a fully accessible facility, with open limited-mobility and wheelchair seating that can be claimed by guests. Additionally, locations open to visitors meet all ADA requirements. For information about accessible parking, transit, campus traversal and hospitality, see Ceremony Day.

Plan for international travel

Towson University encourages the families of our international students to visit their student and the U.S. for vacation, graduation or any other reason. Visitors will likely need a B-2 visitor visa which is obtained through application at the U.S. embassy or consulate. Please note: All applications should check their specific U.S. Embassy website for a complete listing of visa application requirements.

Towson University students may send their relatives an invitation letter (see template letter (PDF) provided by the International Students and Scholars Office).
