Towson University is the second largest university in the state of Maryland, located just eight miles north of the heart of Baltimore city. Established in 1866, Towson is nationally recognized for its excellent programs in business and economics, communications, computer and information sciences, education, fine arts, graduate studies and research, health professions, liberal arts, and science and mathematics.
Exchange students who study at Towson University benefit by experiencing first-hand the life of a full-time student in the U. S. They also have access to all other facets of campus life – lectures, conferences, arts and theatre events, intramural sports and student organizations.
The TU Study Abroad & Away Office and International Student and Scholar Office staff works closely with exchange students, international coordinators and other exchange program representatives to ensure a positive experience for students. The staff facilitates on-campus housing placement, course registration, and an understanding of campus life in the United States. Baltimore
Towson University is approximately eight miles north of the city of Baltimore providing a wealth of cultural and educational resources. Baltimore played a significant role in the American Revolution and today offers an interesting mix of historic character and modern city life.
Nicknamed 'Charm City' because of its hospitality, Baltimore has something for everyone.
Attractions include Baltimore's famed Inner Harbor, the National Aquarium in Baltimore,
the Maryland Science Center, and historic Fells Point.
Just west of the harbor you can take in a baseball game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Farther uptown are the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, home of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra,
and the Lyric Opera House. Baltimore is also the home of the Walters Art Gallery and
The Baltimore Zoo, located in Druid Hill Park.
