Research Events

Towson University offers several friendly venues for students to learn more about undergraduate research and to showcase the results of their research and creative inquiry projects.

Student Research and Creative Inquiry Forum

Every April, the university hosts the Student Research and Creative Inquiry Forum, a celebration of research, scholarship, creativity and excellence. This year the forum will take place as part of Presidential Inauguration Week on April 3rd. More information is available on the Forum Page.

The poster session on May 10 will highlight the work of Towson students in CURE courses. The session is open to all students who completed a research project (either as part of a course or not) and would like to practice presenting the results. The application form is available here. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Summer Research Conference

The  Summer Research Conference was held on September 28, 2023 and featured presentations by students who completed a summer research project under the guidance of faculty at Towson University or at another institution.

Additional Presentation Opportunities

Celebration of Scholarship and Learning

Twice a year, the Celebration of Scholarship and Learning (CSL) represents an opportunity for the entire Towson University community to interact with Honors College students who have recently completed or are in the process of completing experiential learning for Honors credit, such as conducting research, studying abroad, undertaking a service-learning course, or completing an internship.

Conference on Undergraduate Research

Once a year, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) provides opportunities for students with research projects to present their projects at national gatherings. NCUR 2024 will be in Long Beach, CA on April 8 - 10, 2024.

Undergraduate Research Club

The TU Undergraduate Research Club (URC) meets every other Tuesday at 7 p.m. in 10 West Burke Avenue, room 165. URC is dedicated to helping undergraduate students achieve research excellence. This club is open to all majors and all undergraduate students, regardless of if you are a freshman or a senior. We connect club members to mentors who help students create research projects, present at national conferences and get published.
