Cost of Attendance

If you apply for financial aid, the Financial Aid Office will calculate your eligibility for aid based on the estimated Cost of Attendance Budgets listed below.  (Also see How Awards Are Determined.)

These fall-spring budgets include estimated direct TU charges (tuition/fees, campus housing, and meal plans), and allowances for other indirect costs (books and supplies, off-campus housing/food, transportation, and personal expenses).  Your actual costs may vary.

For students who live on-campus or off-campus not with parents, our room/board allowances are based on a standard multiple-occupancy room in the Glen Complex, Richmond, Newell, Prettyman, Scarborough, or the Residence Tower). The food allowance is based on our 14 meals/week meal plan.  If you commute from your parents' home, you will receive the lower "Living with Parent" room/board allowances.

The tables below list our estimated 2022-2023 rates.  These rates may change when the University System of Maryland Board of Regents determines our official rates in June 2022.  For more information, see tuition and fees or housing and meal plan rates.

Enrollment Requirements

  • For all students' initial aid budgets and aid offers, we assume full-time status. If you plan to enroll part-time, you must notify us.  Follow our award notification instructions.
  • If you enroll less than half-time, your budget can only include tuition/fees and books/supplies and can’t include room/board, transportation, or personal expenses.
  • For information about aid program enrollment requirements, see Minimum Credits.
