Finish in Four

At TU, we are committed to helping you reach your goals on time. Finish in Four is a shared commitment between you—a first-time full-time student who begins in fall 2026 or later—and TU to keep you on track to graduate in four years.

With the right planning and support, you can make the most of your college experience while staying focused on timely degree completion.

Your Commitment

As a Towson University student, you play an active role in your success. To stay on track, you will:

  • successfully complete 120 credits by the end of your fourth year
  • stay in good academic standing throughout your entire TU career
  • meet all academic requirements specific to your major
  • meet each semester with your academic advisor to plan and monitor your progress
  • follow your degree plan* and register for classes within one week of your enrollment appointment
  • immediately contact your advisor if you are unable to register for required courses identified in your degree completion plan and register for recommended courses

*Please note: Some majors require you to seek admission through audition, secondary application or pre-requisite coursework. If you are not admitted, you can remain Finish in Four eligible if your advisor confirms you can graduate in four years in a newly declared major.

As part of your commitment to Finish in Four, you agree to prioritize your academic progress through the following actions:

  • seek academic support as soon as possible if you begin to struggle in a class
  • choose a major before completing 45 credits**
  • read your TU email and respond to any outreach from university faculty and staff and follow suggested interventions and support services designed to assist your academic success
  • complete all required academic and business transactions on time, including financial aid, student billing, and class registration.

**Please note: At the time you declare or change your major, you can remain Finish in Four eligible if your new major advisor confirms you can graduate in the same four-year timeline during the semester in which you select the major.

Our Commitment

Towson University is here to support you every step of the way. We will:

  • provide program specific academic advising and planning resources to help you succeed.
  • offer required courses regularly so you can progress as planned
  • connect you with academic support services to help you succeed
  • proactively reach out to help you stay on track
  • offer the required course(s) or course waivers (if applicable) for you to finish your primary TU degree free of tuition if you follow the obligations of the pledge and are still not able to graduate in four years
