How do I sign up for the Finish in Four program? Is it automatic or optional?
During your first semester, you can opt into the program using an online form during your individual meeting with your advisor.
This occurs in September for students who begin at TU in a fall semester.
How flexible is the four-year plan if I’m unsure about my major?
You should connect with your advisor about potential paths to determine feasibility for Finish in Four, as programs have varying levels of flexibility for later declaration.
Can summer/winter courses count toward 120 credits? What if I take these credits at another school, like my local community college?
Absolutely! Engaging in coursework over the summer/winter at TU or elsewhere is a great strategy to stay on track toward four-year graduation.
Are there limits to what courses will be covered after four years?
If TU determines we are responsible for the primary degree taking longer than four years, we will waive tuition costs of courses required for a student’s primary academic major that they could not have taken previously.
How long will the university continue to provide tuition coverage?
TU will waive tuition for primary degree courses until degree completion or until the student does not successfully progress in the coursework.

Shouldn’t all students graduate in four years? Does this pledge mean TU doesn’t have enough courses available and only pledge students can graduate in four years?
Four-year graduation is TU’s goal for all students. Finish in Four formalizes that commitment — it pairs existing advising and student support with an institutional guarantee that puts real accountability behind our promise. Finish in Four demonstrates our confidence in systems TU already has in place to promote on-time graduation.
How will my student be notified if they are no longer meeting program requirements?
Students are responsible for monitoring their own compliance with the Finish in Four pledge. Your academic advisor is an excellent resource to support this effort.
How does the university determine whether it is responsible for covering additional tuition?
At the end of four years, if a student believes TU did not follow through on our pledge commitments, the student should bring this concern to their academic advisor. This concern will be reviewed by the major department chair.
Are there any situations where the university would not honor the tuition commitment?
TU will review all student concerns. If the department chair determines the student did not follow through on their Pledge commitment, the tuition guarantee may not be upheld. Students can appeal the chair’s decision to the associate dean of the college.
