It is a free program for university students in the Capital Region (Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia) to gain the digital skills needed for entry-level jobs in this region. Towson University partners with the Capital CoLAB to issue a unique credential that indicates students have in-demand digital literacy skills. After completing the required courses, students will receive a digital badge as a marker of academic and professional achievement. Students can publicize across a broad range of professional outlets (including LinkedIn, Handshake, and a resume).
After completing the required courses, you will earn a digital badge which is used to directly communicate valuable skills that are often difficult to show on a traditional transcript or resume. A digital badge makes your digital technology competency evident and can differentiate you from others with similar academic accomplishments.
Your digital badge can be displayed on your ePortfolio, your LinkedIn profile, or other professional social media sites. The badge will help to distinguish you from other applicants by highlighting specific skills and accomplishments. Employers can view the badge details to see what was required to earn the badge. The digital badge issued by Towson University will be verified and backed by the University.
The digital badge earned through the Capital CoLAB Digital Tech Credential will be automatically issued in your Credly account. You can view the badge details and import it to other sites.
