"Stephen Broy, a 1993 graduate of the College of Health Professions, majored in Physical Education. In 2001 he earned his M.S. in Health Science. Steve had a distinguished career as a teacher-coach in Washington and Baltimore independent schools and made significant impact on the lives of his students and players both in and out of the classroom. He passed away suddenly on January 25, 2011. At the time he was a teacher and wrestling coach at Calvert School in Baltimore. Steve's widow, Laura Francese Broy, together with family, friends, and former students established a fund to honor his memory and provide his exemplary teacher-coach role model to other students following a similar career choice. The family of Stephen C. Broy wants to insure the recipient has the experience of giving back to the community."
