Biography

Dr. Montana McCormick is an Associate Professor in the Department of Secondary Middle Education. She is a former middle school and high school teacher. Dr. McCormick finds anything related to literacy riveting, particularly adolescent literacy. Her current passions center on critical media literacy, the intersection of literacy and social justice and anti-racist literacy instruction. Dr. McCormick is also passionate about exploring digital teaching applications for virtual instruction. 

Research Interests

Dr. McCormick's research focuses on disciplinary literacy and young adult literature and she has written about science literacy, math literacy, social studies literacy and sports literacy education.
