Candice Webster is the Director of Education for Towson University’s Community Dance program. As a dancer and educator, Ms. Webster has worked with companies such as Ground Zero, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, Mason Rhynes Production, and CityDance Ensemble. Her extensive work in outreach education led her as Director of Education for CityDance Ensemble where she grew CityDance's outreach program from six school partnerships to thirty-one, including reaching over 25,000 children through in-school residencies, after-school programs and performances in four short years.
Ms. Webster's extensive participation in the Montgomery County, MD and Washington, DC Public Schools lead her as a Teaching Artist within the Arts and Humanities Council for Montgomery County, the D.C. Commission of Arts and Humanity, and the Washington Performing Arts Society. During this time, Ms. Webster also served as a guest artist and choreographer in many Washington D.C. and Baltimore metro area public and private schools.
In 2007, Ms. Webster began her work at Towson University as the Director of Education for the Department of Dance’s Community Dance program. Her work significantly expanded the department’s outreach to include a pre-collegiate program for teens, a thriving adult program, research center for the department’s faculty and majors, professional dance residencies, and a professional development series for dance educators. Ms. Webster continues to actively teach as a guest artist throughout the Baltimore Metro area and is an Adjunct Professor within the Department of Dance. She holds a B.F.A. in Performance and Choreography from Columbia College and an M.A. in Dance Education from Towson University.
