Biography

Lacey M. Sheppard is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Dance at Towson University, where she teaches Methods of Teaching Dance: Developmental Movement and Professional Seminar in Teaching Dance. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance with K–12 Certification, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Arts Integration, and a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Arts Infusion, all from Towson University.

Beyond her work at Towson, Lacey serves as a Magnet Site Coordinator for the Apex Arts program in Anne Arundel County Public Schools, which is a magnet program designed to nurture creativity, foster collaboration, and challenge students to grow as artists and leaders. She has held leadership roles in the Maryland Dance Education Association, including service as the K–12 Administration board member, and currently co-chairs the Maryland Middle School State Dance Showcase. In 2024, she received the MDEA Outstanding Leadership in Dance Education Award and also contributes her expertise as a board member for the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.

Lacey is grateful for her ever-growing career in the dance education and the arts and is passionate about supporting current and future arts educators through her work at Towson University and in the wider community.
