Biography

Mr. Goffigan, a multiple percussionist, began his career over 45 years ago as a self-taught drummer. He then majored in music at Antioch College in Baltimore, followed study of piano and music theory with James Holliman. He was awarded a fellowship grant from the national Endowment for the Arts to study under Frederick Waits, Jazz Professor of Multiple Percussion Instruments at Rutgers/Livingston in New Jersey. Mr. Goffigan has performed with several dance companies such as Parson Dance Company in Fort Meyers, FL; Cumberland Dance Company in Harrisburg, PA; Regional Dance America/Northeast; and ACDF Mid-Atlantic Region at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He has worked at Kinetics Dance Theatre, Baltimore School for the Arts, Morton Street Dance Studios, Carver High School of Baltimore County, and Patapsco High School. Mr. Goffigan is working as a multiple percussionist/accompanist in the dance departments of Towson University, Goucher College, Howard and Essex Community Colleges. Currently, Mr. Goffigan performs in and around the Tri-State area.
