Biography
Marina McLerran is originally from Austin, Texas and has five years of public school teaching experience in East Texas. She recently completed her Ph.D. in music education (2024) from the University of Miami, where she also earned an M.M. in Music Education (2021). She earned her B.M. in Music Education (2014) from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. In addition to teaching, McLerran is a founding member and current administrator of the East Texas Chamber Winds. She has published articles in the Music Educators Journal and the state journals for the Texas Bandmasters Association, the Florida Music Educators Association and the Kansas Music Educators Association.
McLerran has presented at conventions for the Society of Music Teacher Education (2025), the Maryland Music Educators Association (2024; 2025), the Florida Music Educators Association (2020, 2021, and 2023), participated in the University of Miami Graduate Research Symposium (2021, 2023, 2024), and performed in a musical showcase at the Texas Music Educators Association convention (2018).
