Mary Ann Criss has served as Assistant to the Chairperson and Academic Program Coordinator since August 1997. Under her guidance, the department has reorganized many of its operations, including admissions, auditions, and advising procedures, facilities scheduling, course exceptions, and student services. Ms. Criss also writes and edits department and university publications, including a yearly update to the music course information and major requirements in the University’s Undergraduate Catalog.
In addition to her administrative duties, Ms. Criss is a member of the department’s curriculum committee and recruitment committee, serves as chairperson of the department’s advising committee, and is one of the First Year Experience Advisors for incoming freshmen music majors and music minors. She also is an active participant at the University Open Houses, TU4U events, and off-campus college fairs. During the summer, Ms. Criss works with New Student Programs and Academic Advising, serving as the Department of Music’s coordinator for transfer student orientation and registration.
Ms. Criss holds a Master of Science in Professional Writing and is a part-time faculty member in the Department of English.
