Making Our Campus A Healthier Place to Be and Live

We accept applications on a rolling basis even if we are not recruiting new peer educators at the moment.  Please fill out an application if you are interested.

What do Healthy Minds Peer Educators do?

Healthy Minds Peer Educators work to develop workshops and programs promoting positive mental health and wellness across campus.

As a team, these peer educators provide:

  • educational resources to students through tabling events
  • classroom or student group presentations
  • outreach-related programs and events

At times, these peer educators may also collaborate with other peer education or student organizations on campus to create and promote relevant events.

Peer educators are encouraged to work together to create creative programming related to their areas of interest and/or to address specific campus needs. 

What type of training do Healthy Minds Peer Educators receive?

Healthy Minds Peer Educators will participate in and develop skills in leadership, needs assessment, program development, and evaluation.

Healthy Minds Peer Educators are trained to promote information through outreach events in the following areas:

  • Stress Management
  • Mindfulness
  • Self-care
  • Suicide awareness and prevention
  • Mental health prevalence and stigma on college campuses
  • Time management
  • Positive mental health practices
