Resources and Assignments for GenCyber 3.0 Summer 2024 participants
The Towson University Center for STEM Excellence, in partnership with the TU Cyber Center is excited to announce the B′More Secure GenCyber Professional Learning Program, designed to support secondary educators in Maryland in engaging their students in learning about cybersecurity.
The 2024–2025 B’More Secure GenCyber Professional Learning Program is a year-long professional learning community for middle and high school educators in Maryland that will build teacher capacity to integrate cybersecurity concepts into their courses and engage their students in learning about careers and post-secondary opportunities in cybersecurity. We are particularly interested in increasing interest in cybersecurity among students traditionally underrepresented in cyber careers and fields of study (i.e., African America, Hispanic) and strongly encourage educators who work with these populations of students to apply.
The program is primarily designed for teachers with little to no cybersecurity content knowledge. However, teachers with existing cybersecurity knowledge and teaching experience are welcome to apply, as a focus on the pedagogy of teaching cyber, career connections and social justice issues related to cyber security will benefit teachers with all levels of experience.
Teachers who successfully complete the B’More Secure GenCyber program will receive a $1,200 stipend (must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident), a new computer (which is theirs to keep) and 3 CPD credits.
Visit B'More Secure GenCyber 3.0 Program for more details and FAQs about the program.
